Montessori Work & Study: Learning Beyond the Classroom
At West Coast Montessori, Work & Study gives our Adolescent Program students the opportunity to apply their learning in Science and Humanities to real-world situations, connecting classroom knowledge with meaningful action in the wider community.
Today, our Manyin advisory students rolled up their sleeves for a local beach clean-up, putting environmental awareness into practice and exploring how individual actions can contribute to protecting our natural environment.
Meanwhile, our Maarmong advisory students spent the day supporting the Eat Up initiative, making sandwiches for children who might otherwise go without lunch at school. This gave students the opportunity to contribute to a program making a real difference for local families, while seeing how the things we learn about our wider community can translate into practical action.
Both activities are part of what makes Montessori Work & Study so valuable. Students aren’t just learning about issues in the world around them; they’re getting involved and finding ways to contribute.
