Senior Project Presentations

Yesterday, our Adolescent Program Seniors shared their Senior Projects, and we couldn’t be prouder of the thought, research and genuine passion that went into them.

The depth our students went to with their topics was impressive. We heard about Marine Medicine, including experiments with seaweed bandages, and learnt about the complex process of creating 3D animations for video games. One student drew on her passion for criminology to write a thesis exploring the links between childhood trauma and criminal behaviour.

What stood out just as much as the research was the reason behind each project. One of our students, who spends much of his time volunteering with Naragebup, has been entrusted with its turtle rehabilitation program and is looking forward to taking his passion for marine conservation into a Marine Biology degree at university.

Another student shared that her goal of studying nursing comes from wanting to work as a remote nurse, helping people who don’t have easy access to healthcare. Her project explored Aboriginal health and diseases that disproportionately affect Aboriginal people.

Their projects weren’t simply about researching a topic and presenting what they’d learnt. They reflected the things that matter to them, the questions they want to understand, and the difference they hope to make. Our hearts are full seeing the compassion our students have for others and their desire to make the world a better place.

We are incredibly proud of our Seniors as they prepare for their next chapter, with many heading to university to pursue fields such as Criminology, Computer Science and Game Creation, Marine Biology and Nursing. Some have already received early offers!

We can’t wait to see where their passions take them.
