Indonesian Cultural Infusion
Yesterday, our primary students had the wonderful opportunity to experience a traditional Indonesian Wayang Kulit shadow puppet show with master puppeteer Sumardi, visiting all the way from Indonesia.
Students were introduced to the rich stories and legends of Indonesian culture through this beautiful traditional art form. They even had the chance to see the puppetry from both sides of the screen and discover a little of the magic behind the shadows!
Did you know it can take a whole year to make just one puppet? The level of detail, patience and skill that goes into creating these puppets is incredible.
A big thank you to Sumardi for visiting our school and sharing his knowledge and culture with our students. It was a wonderful opportunity for them to experience something unique and learn about traditions from another part of the world.
