Lower Primary – Week 3 Term 1 2026
The Starfish class has been enjoying a meaningful and joyful start to the term.
With new children joining our class, there has been a strong focus on building friendships and nurturing a sense of belonging. Through shared activities and collaborative experiences, the children are learning how to include one another, communicate respectfully and grow together as a team.
As part of our cultural studies, the class explored Chinese New Year. The children learnt about the traditions and were excited to discover their own zodiac signs. They also created beautiful Fire Horse crafts to celebrate the occasion, expressing their creativity and broadening their appreciation of cultural diversity.
Our young gardeners have also been hard at work. Before planting, the children tasted some of the herbs, engaging their senses and curiosity. Everyone participated in planting the vegetables and herbs. Gardening continues to be a rich hands-on experience, encouraging responsibility, care for the environment, and an appreciation for where our food comes from.
To further strengthen our classroom community, the children have been playing cooperative games designed to build teamwork and team spirit. These shared experiences are helping to foster collaboration, patience and mutual support.
It has been a beautiful period of growth — socially, culturally and practically, and the Starfish children continue to flourish together.
