Children’s House – Week 4 Term 1 2026
As the new year begins, Dolphin Class has been buzzing with fresh energy. Alongside our returning children, we have welcomed many new friends into our classroom community. Over the past few weeks, there has been a gentle rhythm of introductions, exploration, and growing confidence as each child begins to find their place within the environment.
Practical Life activities have been at the heart of our days. From carefully carrying trays to rolling mats and completing purposeful tasks, these experiences help the children build independence and self-assurance. With each small success, their confidence grows and their sense of belonging strengthens as they become active, capable members of the classroom.
This term, a particular excitement has developed around the Cultural area. The children have been drawn to the Continent Folders and Puzzle Maps, carefully tracing outlines, matching pieces, and asking thoughtful questions about the world beyond our classroom walls. Through this work, they are not only learning geography, but also developing an appreciation of different cultures and places and nurturing the natural curiosity that connects them to our wider global community.
