Where Stories Lead Us in Mooja
Our Mooja Lower Primary students have had plenty to talk about since returning from the Book Week production. Back in the classroom, they shared their favourite parts, acted out some of their favourite stories and began writing detailed character descriptions inspired by Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Their work has also taken them beyond stories, with the students researching different countries, creating maps and learning about languages and cuisines from around the world. They have also been exploring how people communicated throughout history, looking at ideograms and pictographs before creating some of their own.
Along the way, the students have been able to follow their own interests and questions, moving from one piece of work to the next. A conversation about a story can become an opportunity to write, research or create, and it is these connections that make the classroom such an interesting place to be.
