Murdoch Uni Nursing Experience
Last week, a couple of our Adolescent Program students headed over to Murdoch University for a Nursing Experience Session, and it was an incredible opportunity for them to explore some future career paths.
They got a proper look at what training to be a nurse actually looks like, spending time in the university’s state-of-the-art Simulation Lab. The space is set up exactly like a real hospital ward, which gave them a genuine feel for the environment. During the session, they took part in a vital signs workshop, met the 'High Fidelity Sim Man' (a highly realistic training mannequin), and practiced clinical care skills under the guidance of Murdoch's experienced nursing staff.
The Murdoch Future Students Team was also there to chat through different entry pathways. One of our attending students is currently working hard on their Certificate IV in Nursing at TAFE with the goal of transitioning into a university nursing degree next year. Getting to experience the campus and facilities firsthand was a massive confidence booster and a great reminder of what they are working toward.
It was a brilliant hands-on experience all around, and a big thank you to Murdoch University for hosting such an immersive and welcoming day.
