Lower Primary Explores the Evolution of Life

A real highlight in the Lower Primary Sea Lions class recently has been our exploration of the Second Great Story: The Coming of Life. Through this Montessori story, the children have been learning about how life first emerged on Earth and how living things have changed and adapted over millions of years.

The older children have especially enjoyed taking their learning further by creating timelines, completing research projects, and sharing their findings with their peers, demonstrating independence and initiative as they explore their ideas.

We can see their understanding building over time, with the children connecting ideas and developing their thinking step by step.

Earlier in the term, the children also thoroughly enjoyed participating in the Lower Primary camp, where they took part in a range of exciting activities and strengthened their friendships through shared experiences and teamwork.
