Lower Primary - Week 5 Term 1 2026
Term 1 has been a lovely start for Mooja. We have enjoyed welcoming new children into our community, and it has been special to see our older children naturally stepping up to guide and support them. This sense of shared responsibility reflects the Montessori approach, where children learn from one another and grow in confidence through leadership and collaboration.
In Language, we have focused on identifying different sentence structures and using them in our own writing. The children have worked thoughtfully to create descriptive and imaginative pieces, developing both their skills and their confidence as independent writers.
In Maths, we have continued building understanding and applying our knowledge in practical ways. Measuring ingredients for baking has given the children the opportunity to use their skills in a real-life context, reinforcing learning through hands-on experience, which is such an important part of Montessori education.
Swimming has also been a highlight this term. The children have made steady progress and are becoming more confident in the water with each lesson. We look forward to seeing them use their new skills at the beach.
It has been a positive and productive term, grounded in independence, practical learning, and a strong sense of community.
