Compassion is important: Adolescent Program meets zero2hero

All of the senior Adolescent Program students recently attended an incursion hosted by zero2hero. zero2hero is a Western Australian-based mental health charity dedicated to educating, engaging, and empowering young people to become mental health leaders.

The students learnt about compassion and what it means to look out for one another. Everyone engaged in fun activities and had a blast learning. From the definition of compassion to the Three Circles Model developed by Professor Paul Gilbert, this was an informative and interactive incursion that many enjoyed.

“It felt really supportive of mental health and it’s nice to know that the school is supporting us by getting into that area.” - Zoe

“I loved it and I thought it was really nice and taught us a lot about compassion and kindness.” - Sophie

“I thought it was really educational and I appreciate the way Eleanor spoke to us and listened to all our answers. I feel like this whole experience will change me for the better.” - Sage

“It was good and it gave some people some useful information, mainly the basics of understanding compassion.” - Bailey

“I found the incursion good for self-reflection in my own life and it made me think of ways I could improve my responses to a situation.” - Ms Anita

Huge shoutout to Eleanor for hosting the incursion and having us all for the morning. Another huge shoutout to zero2hero for creating the humanKIND program for all high school students to enjoy.

Remember to stay compassionate to one another!
