Baking, Bubbles and Budding Gardeners at our Montessori Playgroup
The children have been fully immersed in sensory play and discovery lately. From the splash of water to the wonderful scent of fresh baking, there is so much to explore!
Splashing and Pouring
We noticed how much the children love the water at the washing up station, so we have moved the fun outdoors. Our new water run is a big hit, giving everyone the chance to splash, pour, scoop, and drain to their heart’s content. Because the children are getting stuck into the fun, please remember to pack a spare set of clothes for a quick change when they get wet.
From Grain to Bread
Our mornings are filled with the delicious smell of fresh bread baking. The children have been enjoying the process of grinding quinoa into fine flour to be used in our daily dough. Everyone around us smells our fresh bread baking each morning and the children love sitting down together to enjoy the warm bread they helped create.
Helping Our Garden Grow
Our little gardeners are also busy using a mortar and pestle to grind eggshells into a fine dust. They have been sprinkling this around our outdoor plants as a natural way to deter snails. It is a fantastic way for the children to explore textures while caring for our environment.
