Young Hearts, Big Impact!
Students in Upper Primary recently took on the challenge of organising the Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea for their school, a wonderful fundraising event for the Cancer Council. Two of these dedicated students, Asha and Tabby, share their reflections on planning and executing this meaningful event:
The Biggest Morning Tea is an amazing group of people who got together to raise money for people affected by cancer. At the Biggest Morning Tea, everybody brought in a gold coin donation. We could not have run this without the Cancer Council. Asha, Scarlett, Eliane and I organised it, and I am so excited to do it all again.

On 22nd May, some of my friends and I set up a fundraiser for the Cancer Council. This was to raise money for people who have cancer. We made some vegan cookies that were also gluten-free. We also made fruit kebabs with apple, banana, strawberries and grapes. When we were planning the morning tea, we went on the website to research things about the Cancer Council to help us learn more about cancer and skin damage too.
My opinion on the Biggest Morning Tea is that we should have done it inside our classroom like we did last year! It was also on at the Rockingham site as well as at the Adolescent Program. They had a raffle to help raise even more money!
