Montessori & the Australian Children’s Education & Care Quality Authority Learning Frameworks
By Law, all childcare and education providers must deliver an educational program that is:
- based on an approved learning framework
- delivered in accordance with that approved learning framework
- based on the developmental needs, interests and experiences of each child
- designed to take into account the individual differences of each child.
West Coast Montessori Early Learning follows Belonging, Being and Becoming – The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia (EYLF), the National approved framework under the National Quality Framework (NQF) for young children from birth to 5 years of age.
The Montessori approach uses learning programs that are personalised to each child based on their developmental needs, interests and experiences. Using the Montessori principle of Respect for the Child, the individual differences of each child are taken into account – Montessori respects the uniqueness of every child, their freedom to choose, to move, to correct their own mistakes, and to work at their own pace
